We continue playing through the classic Gygaxian tournament module, T1: The Village of Hommlet. The second half has us discussing why Daniel is running the game the way he is, and Daniel gives a dubious genealogy of D&D.
You can grab a $5 pdf of the module from drivethrurpg here.

Monsters and Manuals. Daniel mentioned a blog post advocating “boring” maps. Not boring as in their contents, but “boring” as in generally easy to describe: rectangles, not trapezoids. That post is here: The Elementary Principles of Dungeon Drawing.
Braunstein. Daniel talked about Braunstein, an early wargame in which players controlled a single character. Check out its wiki page here.
Blackmoor. This was Dave Arneson’s home campaign. It was released as a supplement for OD&D. And you can get just this supplement as a pdf now. Nice.
